This policy applies to the Android app “Retro Player” (package name: de.blocknote.retroplayer).

2. Overview
Retro Player is a local music player with an optional internet-radio feature. The app does not require an account and does not use advertising, analytics, tracking services, or cloud synchronisation. Your local music data is processed on your device.
3. Local music library
After you grant audio access, the app reads local audio files and related metadata from Android’s media library. This may include file names, title, artist, album information, duration, and embedded artwork. The information is used only to display and play your library and is not sent to us.
You can revoke this permission at any time in Android settings. Without it, the app cannot display or play your local music library. The legal basis is your consent through the Android permission (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
4. Local settings, playback, and playlists
Playback status, queues, playlists, saved radio stations, and display or audio settings are stored locally on your device and are not sent to us. You can remove them in the app, by clearing app data, or by uninstalling the app.
5. Internet radio
You may save and play your own radio-stream URLs. When playback starts, your device connects directly to the selected stream provider. That provider may process your IP address, the time of access, and technical connection data. The stream provider is independently responsible for that processing; please consult its privacy policy.
Station names and stream URLs are stored only on your device. Data sent through unencrypted http:// streams may be readable by third parties in transit; where possible, use https:// streams.
6. Microphone and notifications
For audio visualisation in the DJ view, the app may request the “Microphone” permission. It is used only for the technical visualisation of local playback. The app does not record conversations or transmit audio to us or third parties.
With the optional notification permission, the app can show media controls and the currently playing title in an Android notification. This information remains on your device.
7. Recipients and transfers
We do not receive personal data from your use of Retro Player. The app only transmits data to a radio-stream provider you select in order to play that stream. It uses no analytics, advertising, or social-media SDKs.
8. Your rights
Subject to the GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. You may withdraw consent at any time with future effect. You may also lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority.
9. Changes
We may update this policy when app features or legal requirements change. The current version is available at this address.
